Creator Rewards replaced the old Creator Fund, and the difference is not cosmetic. The Fund paid a small amount on almost any view. Rewards pays considerably more, on far fewer views. Understanding which views count is most of the job.
Requirements
- 100,000 video views in the previous 30 days
- Account at least 30 days old
- 18 or over
- Account in good standing, in an eligible region
Meeting all five gets you into the programme. It does not get you paid.
What counts as a qualified view
A view qualifies when: the video is longer than one minute, the viewer watched a meaningful portion, the view came from a real account in an eligible region, and the content is original to you.
A view does not qualify when: the video is under a minute (this alone disqualifies most feeds), it is a duet or stitch, the content is flagged as unoriginal, the viewer bounced immediately, or the traffic came from outside the payable regions.
Each video also has to clear 1,000 qualified For You views on its own before it earns. Reaching your existing followers is not enough – the views have to come through For You distribution.
The gap between total views and qualified views is often enormous. A million total views across short clips can produce a qualified count near zero. That is not a bug, it is the design of the programme.
What it pays
Reported rates land somewhere around £0.40 to £1.00 per 1,000 qualified views in the UK, varying by niche, watch time and audience region. Finance, business and tech skew high. General entertainment skews low.
The practical consequence: 100,000 qualified views a month is roughly £40 to £100. Creator Rewards is rarely the main income from a TikTok account. It is a baseline, and the real money is in what the audience enables.
What that means in actual money
Rates alone are abstract, so here are three accounts at different scales, all posting long-form in the UK.
| Qualified views/month | RPM | Monthly | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small, consistent | 80,000 | £0.55 | ~£44 |
| Mid, established niche | 500,000 | £0.70 | ~£350 |
| Large, finance niche | 2,000,000 | £1.00 | ~£2,000 |
Two things fall out of that table. The first is that Creator Rewards only becomes a real income at a scale most accounts never reach. The second is that niche moves the number nearly as much as scale does – the finance account earns almost twice per view what the small general account does.
The mistake is treating Rewards as the goal. At 500,000 qualified views a month you have an audience worth considerably more than £350 through Shop commission or a single brand partnership. Rewards is the floor, not the ceiling.
“I am eligible but Creator Rewards is not showing”
- Payout verification is incomplete. Programme access and withdrawal access are separate.
- Your region is not eligible, or is not the one you think. Eligibility follows the registered region.
- A strike is active. Even an expiring strike blocks it while live.
- The 100k views were not in a rolling 30-day window. It is a trailing window, not a lifetime total.
Creator Rewards against the old Creator Fund
| Creator Fund | Creator Rewards | |
|---|---|---|
| Video length | Any | Over 1 minute only |
| Rate per 1k views | Very low | Several times higher |
| View standard | Most views counted | Qualified views only |
| Suits | High-volume short clips | Longer, retained watch time |
If your format is 15-second clips, Rewards is not the programme for you and no amount of follower growth changes that. The format has to change first.
Why your qualified views are lower than you expect
The single most common surprise is the size of the gap between the view count in your analytics and the one that pays. Every filter below removes views before the figure is calculated:
- Videos under one minute. Removed entirely, not reduced.
- Views from your followers rather than For You. A video needs 1,000 qualified For You views on its own before it earns anything.
- Views from outside payable regions. Creator Rewards operates in a limited set of countries. Traffic from elsewhere is real reach, but it is not payable reach.
- Immediate bounces. A view that lasts a second is a view in your dashboard and nothing in your Rewards figure.
- Duets, stitches and reposts. Excluded as unoriginal.
An account whose analytics show two million monthly views can easily have a qualified figure under 200,000. That is not an error and there is no appeal – it is what the programme is measuring.
How to raise the number rather than the reach
Since qualified views are the payable unit, optimising for them is different from optimising for reach:
Push length past the minute with intent. A 61-second video that loses everyone at 20 seconds qualifies but performs badly. Structure for the length rather than padding to reach it.
Front-load the hook. Retention in the first three seconds determines whether For You distributes the video at all, and For You distribution is what produces qualified views.
Stay in one niche. Consistent subject matter gives TikTok a stable audience to distribute to, which raises the proportion of views arriving through For You rather than your follower feed.
Check your audience geography. If most of your reach is from non-payable regions, your RPM will look broken when it is working exactly as designed.
What this means practically
Accounts that earn well on Creator Rewards look similar: over-a-minute videos, a defined niche, strong retention in the first ten seconds, and a consistent posting schedule. The follower count matters far less than those four things.
If you want an account with all of that already in place, our UK Creator Rewards accounts are listed with payout history you can inspect before buying. The payout history, not the follower count, is what tells you whether an account actually earns.
